Desert Modern

It’s not the beach but there’s something about the desert that puts us in that laid-back frame of mind.  The dry heat, cool pools and towering San Jacinto mountains may be over 100 miles from the coast but the peace and serenity of the desert is like a vacation all year round.

Native Californian Trina Turk has made Palm Springs her home base and draws much of her inspiration from the resurgence of the mid-century modern lifestyle that has emerged in Palm Springs over the last decade. She’s also influenced by graphic arts.  This week she launched her collaboration with Banana Republic on a line of modern and colorful summer classics drawn from her signature prints.
